Become a Film center member

Docskool’s mandate to work for cinema is only met through a collective resolve between diverse artists, young people, film enthusiasts, campaign partners and audiences alike.

General Member

General members are individuals represented at Docskool’s annual general assembly. Their vision support Docskool meet its social mandates as mentioned in our organisational memorandum. General members have vote a new board of directors, appointing individuals they prefer to lead the organisation. Membership is privy to selection by existing board. It starts with filling a membership request form.

Membership to Airavat Picture house

Airavat Picture house, Docskool’s micro cinema and film resource hub in Kathmandu is a membership-based cinema. Membership is open all year round and open in different categories. Members have access to weekly screenings, advanced festival passes, access to wide selection of reading materials and DVD’s.

  • Yearlong access to screenings at Airavat and discount on festival passes and workshops.
  • Full members can use the cinema for personal viewing of film from the library.(for group viewing, limited price will be applicable)
  • Access to Docskool’s library of books on film, DVD collection and Docskool festival archive.
  • 50% discount to use certain A/V equipments and editing setups available at Docskool.
  • Annual fee for Full Membership is NRs. 3000

  • Free access to screenings at Airavat year round.
  • Access to Docskool’s library.
  • 2 free usage of micro cinema venue.
  • 25% discount on rental of micro cinema venue.
  • Annual fee for Cinema Membership is Rs. 1500

  • Access to all benefits of ‘Individual Membership +1 for one other individual. (The beneficiary must be mentioned beforehand.)
  • Family Membership is Rs. 2000

Students currently pursuing film, media, art & design will pay Rs.2250 for full membership. A copy of valid student ID is required during application.

  • Membership is for a period of 12 months. Membership is non transferable.
  • Membership fee is fixed and will not be negotiated.
  • Seating to the cinema is based on seat availability.
  • Equipments provided are on loan against a deposit. Members receive 50% discount on all equipment rental.
  • Members are provided 25% discount on rental fees to use Airavat Picture House.
  • Books from the library may not be borrowed, but photocopying is possible.
  • Members should provide their membership cards to access the facilities.

Docskool is a non profit NGO. All amounts paid as membership fee or for rental of facilities go towards maintenance. We also pay considerable fees to invite certain film titles to the cinema. Nepali filmmakers showcasing films at the cinema receive payment from the door collection only.
